As Sam’s popularity grew, he was given his first major venue gig at The NorVa in Norfolk, VA opening for David Allen Coe. This performance fueled his fire and passion for music even more. By the age of 21, Sam had opened for numerous headlining acts, such as Craig Morgan, Jake Owen, Lee Brice and Tim McGraw. Days after his appearance with Tim McGraw, Sam received a call while he was working in a lumber yard from music veteran Rusty Harmon, former manager of Hootie and The Blowfish. He encouraged Sam to pack up his belongings and head on down to Nashville. While standing on top of an 18-wheeler, Sam looked around and realized that he was willing to do whatever it takes to follow his passion. If music was going to be his future, so was Nashville.

Once in Nashville, it didn’t take long for Hayes to meet country superstar Tracy Lawrence.043 Tracy saw something special in Sam and took him out on tour. Sam will be forever grateful for that opportunity because it furthered his drive to continue writing songs, then hitting the road and sharing them with the fans.

“I’m in this for the long haul. I love getting out in front of audiences and seeing everyone having a good time. That’s what it’s all about. It’s the icing on the cake,” says Hayes.

Sam’s debut album is scheduled for release in late 2010. He will be touring across the US and Canada.
